Process

To be considered for a place at this School, parents / their sons must complete the following:

1. Parents must apply to the School/Consortium to take the Entrance Test
2. Boys must sit the Entrance Test
3. Parents must complete a separate application to their home Local Authority listing Queen Mary's Grammar School as a preference

1. Application to the School/Consortium to take the Entrance Test

Boys can only take the School/Consortium Entrance Test once. Applications to sit the Entrance Test were open until 31st August 2017. Late applications will be considered from 1st January 2018 and parents who have not applied should refer back to the website after this date

2. Taking the Entrance Test

When the online application has been completed boys will be allocated a test centre. The Entrance Test will take place on Monday 18th September 2017.

The Test comprises two papers of about an hour each, which assess verbal reasoning/English literacy, non-verbal reasoning, and mathematics. Admission to the School is based on performance in the Test.

Questions for the Entrance Test are contained in a question booklet and candidates are required to write their answers on a separate answer sheet. The familiarisation booklet below is designed to inform candidates and parents about the Entrance Test.
